Weitere Angaben | Preti is a writer, broadcaster, filmmaker and human rights activist. She is a Leverhulme Early Career Reseach Fellow at Warwick University working in the department of English and Comparative Literary Studies, and the Centre for Human Rights in Practice until 2020, and an AHRC/ BBC Radio 3 New Generation Thinker, broadcasting for Radio 3 and 4 on world literature and culture. She also writes for the Guardian, Observer, Index, Scroll and the Conversation. She is one of Hay Festival's 30 under 40 thinkers whose ideas will shape the world in the next 30 years. Her fiction film and documentary work with Ben Crowe is critically acclaimed. Together, they founded ERA Films, working on issues as diverse as Iraq’s refugee crisis, in Rwanda with survivors of the genocide and with women in slum areas of Nairobi, Kenya and on major interactive multimedia documentaries for migrant workers rights worldwide. Preti co founded and edits Visual Verse, the online anthology of art and words, bringing the freshest new writing from around the world to a global audience. |
