His research interests encompass a wide range of topics, including the modern history of South Asia, Nepali political parties, the parliamentary system, and the nature of contentious politics. His research expertise lies in the areas of human security, Maoist insurgency, peace building, and conflict resolution. Currently, he is engaged in research on post-conflict reconciliations and challenges in Nepal.
