"This first edition was designed by William R. Holman in an edition of 500 copies in 2017. The text was set by Barbara Mathews Whitehead in Jan Tschichold's Sabon. Four hundred copies are bound in red cloth. Of these, 150 copies are reserved for my collaborators, friends, and family. Each of the 100 Special Copies is bound by Raoul Bollin at the Bollin Bookbindery in San Diego, CA, in quarter morocco over marbled paper-covered boards. The combination of 10 colors of morocco and the colors and patterns of 50 marbled papers render each copy unique. A copy of the 2017 quasi-facsimile edition of The Scribner Book Store's A Catalogue of Original Manuscripts and First and Other Important Editions of the Tales of Sherlock Holmes, as Written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle is housed in the slipcase with the Special Copies.
