| Weitere Angaben | Rodrigo Pais was born in Rome on 28 September 1930. In 1946 he started to work as a printer at "Binazzi e Lombardini" photographic laboratory. After a long period of apprenticeship, his passion for photography and politics made him become a photo reporter in 1950 for the weekly magazine "Vie Nuove". In 1954, he started a cooperation as a foreground photo reporter on behalf of L'Unità (marking "his great passion" forever) and for other newspapers such as Paese Sera. Together with Giorgio Sartarelli, he founded the agency denominated "Agenzia Pais e Sartarelli" which was one of the most popular and best-known photographic agencies in Italy and abroad until 1972, year of its closing down. His professional activity as a photo reporter had a duration of over fifty years, ending in 1998. He died in Rome on March 2007. |
